This Tech Guide for 101 Grand Ave provides a simple reference for setting up and using the essential systems and smart features in your home

Light Switches

Once you have wifi installed in your new home you will be able to pair light switches to the iotty app.

Your home is equipped with Iotty smart light switches. To control them from the iotty app follow these steps. The app will also allow you to control the backlight.

Before you start note which lights are controlled by more than one light switch, this will be important when registering all lights. Also be mindful to name each light with a unique name. This will be helpful in daily use of the app.

Step 1: Download the App

Download and open the “Iotty” app.

Step 2: Create or Log In to Account

Tip: Don’t skip verification — pairing won’t complete without it.

Step 3: Confirm Wi-Fi Requirements

Before pairing:

  • Your phone must be connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • If you have a dual-band router, temporarily disable 5 GHz or move further from router to force 2.4 GHz.

Step 4: Remove Front Plate from Switch

  • Grip the top and bottom of the plate with both hands.
  • Pull from the bottom, and plate will snap off.

Step 5: Prepare Device for New Pairing

  • When pairing a new device using a paperclip or pin press the AP button once.
  • This removes the device from any previous pairings.

Step 6: Add Single Switch in the App

  1. Open the app.
  2. Tap the + (Add Device) button.
  3. Select: Connect device to Wi-Fi.
  4. App will start searching for devices.
  5. The app will pull a list of devices available nearby: you will need to match the serial number from the switch to the app.
  6. Once you have found the correct device number click on it.
  7. The app will prompt you to enter the wifi password. Enter password and press connect.
  8. The app will then register the device.
  9. Once registration is successful app will prompt you to start configuration.
  10. Click Start Device Configuration.

Device Configuration

  • If switch is a one way all you need to do is label the switch.
  • Lights that are controlled by only one switch should be set as “On/Off Switch”.
  • If switch has a dimmer that will automatically be registered.
  • If the switch has multiple lights it controls then the app will have you label each light. You are able to manually turn lights on and off when the plate is removed so that you know which lights you are labeling.
  • Press Next.
  • The next screen will allow you to name the plate. Enter a plate name and press Next.
  • The final step is to press Save.

When Pairing a Light That Can Be Controlled by Multiple Switches

  1. Follow steps to pair the first plate.
  2. When you go to pair the second plate you will take additional steps.
  3. On the app for this switch you will select “Multiway (3/4 Way)”.
  4. The app will prompt you to select from which plate and switch you want to pair the current switch with. Select the correct plate and switch.
  5. From here you can continue from step 10.

Registration Complete

  • You have successfully registered this switch.
  • You will need to do this for each switch in your new home.
  • You can now return the switch cover, it pops back into place.

Induction Cooktop

Your home is equipped with a modern induction cooktop. Unlike traditional gas or electric ranges, induction cooking uses magnetic cookware to heat efficiently and provide precise temperature control.

Before You Begin

Induction cooktops only work with compatible cookware.

Compatible cookware includes:

  • Magnetic stainless steel
  • Cast iron
  • Cookware with an induction-compatible base

Not compatible:

  • Glass
  • Aluminum
  • Copper (without a magnetic base)

Tip: If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, it will work on the cooktop.

Step 1: Turn On the Cooktop

Press and hold the power button for approximately 2 seconds.

The display will illuminate when the cooktop is ready for use.

Step 2: Select a Cooking Zone

Place compatible cookware on the desired cooking zone.

Touch the corresponding zone control to activate that burner.

Note: The cooktop will not heat unless compatible cookware is detected.

Step 3: Adjust the Heat Level

Use the slider or touch controls to select a power level.

General guidelines:

  • Low settings: melting, simmering, steaming
  • Medium settings: everyday cooking
  • High settings: boiling and frying

Some models include a Power Boost setting (P) for rapid heating and faster boiling.

Helpful Information

When multiple cooking zones are being used simultaneously, the cooktop may automatically balance power between burners to maintain safe operation.

The cooktop surface may remain warm after cooking due to residual heat from cookware. Always allow the surface to cool before cleaning.

Refrigerator

The refrigerator will be on and running prior to move-in.

Temperature controls are located inside the refrigerator at the top of the unit.

The freezer's ice maker is turned off by default. If you would like to use the ice maker select the ice button, and ensure ice light illuminates.

Tip: It is normal to hear the refrigerator cycling on and off periodically. This is part of the appliance's high-efficiency operation.

Care Tips

• Avoid blocking interior air vents with food items to allow proper airflow.

• After loading groceries, the refrigerator may take some time to return to its normal temperature.

• Wipe interior shelves with a damp cloth as needed.

• Clean door seals periodically to help maintain an effective seal.

Windows

A one-time exterior window cleaning has been completed prior to move-in. Future exterior window cleaning is not provided.

Operable Windows

Windows can either swing open or tilt inward for ventilation.

Always ensure windows are fully closed and locked before leaving the unit, especially during windy or coastal weather conditions.

If a window feels stiff, do not force it. Salt air can occasionally affect window operation. Please submit a maintenance request if assistance is needed.
